About Hawthorne Elementary

Hawthorne Elementary is a K-5 school located in the Mt. Baker/Columbia City Area. We celebrate our vibrant, diverse population in a nurturing and positive school environment. Hawthorne works with family, community and educational partnerships to meet or exceed the needs of our students.

Hawthorne academic programs are supported by Title I funds and The Friends of Hawthorne.

Our academic curriculum program includes:  Readers and Writers Workshop, Explorations in Math, National Science Foundation, Read 180, Math in Focus, Study Island, IXL, KidBiz and more.

Hawthorne also focuses on Arts and Technology education. For all students Performing Arts instruction takes place year round.  The program includes music, dance and visual arts. Additionally, every student has the opportunity to belong to our choir, "Voices of Hawthorne."

Students are exposed to technology in both the classroom. Additionally, students and spend time weekly in our state of the art Computer Lab, and receive Library Arts and Physical Education.

Before and after school, high quality programming and childcare is available on-site through CDSA (Community Day School Association) and Powerful Schools.
